Music Video Blog Post
For our music video, we wanted to do a love story in some way,shape or form. With that in mind choices in songs were plentiful. We eventually went with the song K. By cigarettes after sex. This song regards a guy reminiscing about a girl he used to know: Kristen. From there our group chose to follow the storyline of the lyrics. In pre-production we had a blast creating and imagining possible shots for the video. Majority of them revolved around the city or downtown. Furthermore, it was evident in terms of where we were shooting the music video. The only hard part in the pre-production process was finding actors. Many names were thrown out to play Kristen, even my own. Finally it was decided that we would have Franchesca casted as the star girl. We ask many guys to play the male lead but none of them had a schedule that fit ours.
They day finally came and we had no male actor so we decided to improvise. Instead we came up with the idea of having the camera be the guy, through his eyes. From evening to night we spent all of after school filming. We didn’t get home till 10:30pm. This is because of our tight schedules but luckily we found a day where we are all off. I had so many memories filming and I hope to go back downtown just for fun because the immense things to do there. I believe we used all the five guarantees. We especially showed great communication and collaboration skills creating our shots, filming downtown and helping provide feedback to our editor. If I can do anything differently, I would re-film some scenes to have a guy actor in place. This would help viewers get what we want to portray in our video. I would keep all of the good times we shared filming because I had a very pleasant and enjoyable experience. In conclusion this has to be probably my best video so far because of the amount of passion I had with this. I really like the people I worked with and we actually were able to do our own jobs. Everyone showed up with a great attitude and I learned that is what you need in order to create a good video.
